Removing faceups

is not nearly as hard as I anticipated, thankfully. I finally got around to removing the faceup on Felicity's open eyed head the other day.

First I went to the Hobby Lobby and bought Windsor and Newton brush cleaner, it's only like six dollars. Then I gathered some makeup remover pads (that have a nice "exfoliating" side) as well as some q-tips and paper towels.

This is a shot of it before I started (I rotated all of the pictures, I have her sitting back where her headcap goes.) You can see a bit of the gloss I used on her eyes here. And the terrible faceup XD It was my second only after practicing on the puki headplate I had gotten because of an event. You can actually see a bit of where the top of the lip had started to chip off.

Here is a bit later, after some rubbing. The w&n brush cleaner works so good! I wouldn't want to bother with nail polish remover, even if it's acetone free or whatever, that just makes me nervous. The w&n gets a bit thick after it's been sitting on the face for a little while, you can see the fuzzies of the pads stuck to her face in it. So far so good, everything is coming off nicely, or so I thought XD

I have worked a bit more after this picture was taken, but DANG I should not have been so obsessed with blushing every little bit. I didn't have toothpicks so I improvised with cutting the q-tips at an angle, and that worked well for the space in between the lips.

Also, I was so sure to tediously blush inside and behind the ears, and believe me, unless you plan on having a bald doll or they have elf ears, DO NOT BOTHER. It is more of hassle than anything. I also blushed not just around, but inside the nostrils. Oh the lessons you shall learn when actually working on a doll. XD I need to not be so ocd about having things be perfect when it comes to my dolls. The only parts left are the tear ducts and a teeny tiny bit inside the ears, and then it's time to wait for it be get warm so my MSC won't freak out on me.
