Also, Izumicon!!

If anybody else in the OKC area is going you will see me toting Felicity around Izumicon. It's my first ever convention for anything, so I'm pretty much super excited. I only have a little bit of money to spend, but I think Felicity already has plans for that. There is a BJD panel I want to sit in on, and the BJD slumber party which should be pretty neat. Yay! :D

It's Been a While

Everything has been insane. I got engaged about a month ago, I started another semester of college, and I'm still slaving away in retail. Not a lot of time for doll things. :( I'm attending Izumicon next month which should be awesome, though.

I've just been frustrated lately. I waited 9 months for my Dollshe as he has spent 99% of his time in the box. I ordered a cute knit hat for Felicity but since it was paid through paypal I still had my old address for my parent's house on it, and I don't have time to pick it up today. I finally went ahead and spent the twenty bucks on shipping for Jin's outfit, but now it says insufficient address so who knows how long that will all take to work out (I'm betting at least a week more for it to get here) and I hope I don't have to pay anymore for shipping. Now the pressure is on as Christmas break is closing in, and trying to figure out what to enroll for in next semester. Needless to say my dears have been neglected.

Blehhhh Ok

Belladonna's wig is beautiful and fits fine, Jin's...not so much. It was too small and when I tried it on my mnf I realized it was damaged so they are sending me another one in the right size.

Belladonna is very pleased, though. People aren't exaggerating when they say Monique wigs are absolutely gorgeous. I love it so much.

Doll Peddlar Order Shipped

I should get my wigs and eyes next Monday, which is awesome because I don't work on Mondays. Yay! Gahhhhh I hope 7/8 fits my Saint. TnT

New Wigs Ordered

So my dolls will no longer be bald XD I got 2 Monique gold label wigs. One size 8/9 style "Faith" for Belladonna, and one size 7/8 "Jade" for Jin, both in black. Luckily they were on sale a bit for like $23 instead of $28. I've never ordered from Doll Pedlar so we'll see how their customer service and stuff is.

This was my first time posting something for sale on eBay so I felt kind of dumb not knowing how much to charge for shipping and stuff lol But anyway, I hope somebody buys them and enjoys them. :3

I figured since I'm going to try and sell my other 2 NotDoll heads, I better give Ligaya (the first one I did) a better faceup XD. My new pastels and brush make their debut as well. Didn't use the new brush as much as I thought I would do.

Oooooh, new things

Yesterday I went on a bit of a shopping spree. First I got boxes so I can immediately ship my doll heads whenever I put them up for sale, and they get sold. Where I live there is a Michaels, Hancocks, and thrift store all right next to each other. Among other things, I got dark fabric to start making some gothic clothes for my Belladonna, a pair of nice shears since I have literally been using our kitchen/everyday scissors for cutting fabric, and some more black thread. Then at Michaels I got some forty dollar Rembrandt soft pastels for thirteen dollars, and I also managed to find a brush even smaller than the one I use, although I don't think it's quite as small as a signature brush. I can't think of everything else because it's been sitting in the bag since yesterday. Got called into work on my day off so I couldn't repaint my extra heads, and I've spent the majority of today swimming, eating, and again, working. Whenever I get an outfit together I'll post the photos.

Belladonna, Success! Finished!

I am extremely pleased right now. I have chosen to keep the Belladonna head, who will creatively be named Belladonna. :)

With her old face up I tried to paint her as a geisha. I like the idea of blushing the sides of her face darker so it really looked like she had white paint on, but I was lazy when I did it, so it didn't turn out so well.

Just wanted to show how little the paintbrush is I'm working with. It still really isn't as thin as I need it to be, but since it's longer than the other little brushes I have it worked better for running long thin lines.

And ta-da! Every person needs a gothic bjd girl. :D

And now the dreaded part, stringing her so her head will actually be attached. The NotDoll body really is lovely, though.

Finished! I will probably nitpick over it later, but I really am quite happy with the results. Also, to know which head I will be keeping is nice.

Found the Perfect Wig

...and of course it was a limited edition one from Leeke. And the ordering period has been over for a month. :( There is one similar with shorter pieces at the front, but it's not quiiiite the same. Dang. Adieu LR-092.

These were taken like five seconds before I reached over and tried to remove a tiny fleck of white paint and part of her eyelid blushing came right off ;n;

Since I've been in a very Asian mood, I continued the same theme from my last headcap. This one was painted from a ukiyo-e painting I found on Google. Love, even if you can't see it when she is wigged. XD

This photo isn't super good, but I took it last night right after I finished so there wasn't a lot of good light.

Overall I'm still pretty pleased, but I'll just have to try and fix it sometime. TwT For now I'm just moving her wig over a little bit further to hide it. Bleh.

As I'm about to post Felicity's new faceup I lean over to try and chip off a tiny fleck of white paint that got on her eye. Part of her eyelid blushing came right off. I coated super good with MSC. I am not happy about this. -isdejectednow-

I'm on a Roll!

First, I can't believe it ever even crossed my mind to sell my beloved Felicity. Her posing simply cannot be beat. And of course her unique little face. But anyway, I scaled down an undead threads SD kimono pattern to 75%. I used sleeve C which is the longest.. It is still a little big around but it's long enough. I still think the obi should be thicker, and the pattern doesn't quite match. I also have no idea how to tie it. But anyway XD I'm really proud of it, especially since it's my first try.

My state is about to get some severe weather with tornadoes later, so I might have to gather up my zoo of pets into my tiny apartment bathroom. I might also put my dolls in a box together just to be safe.

/Awesome/ Chair Find + I Made Pants!

Today has been amazing overall, but it helps my bf bought me an awesome chair, and it was half off for $8 at Michaels. :D And I borrowed some pins & stuff from my mom so I made a somewhat decent pair of pants.

Planning world domination: now much more comfortable XD And I imagine that her pants were made from an old circus tent. Don't look too close or you can tell that since I didn't have a lot of that fabric the stripes are going different ways XD Oh well, don't care, I made a pair of finished pants. More pictures when there is better light.

Jin - Dollshe Update

I asked on Dollshe's reproduction center board about how many more weeks until my ronin would ship, and this is what I got. Yay!

 We apologize for the extended delay. The fresh skin dolls will be reproduced this week. As long as the reproductions are free of impurities and other defects, we should be abel to ship your order as soon as the reproduction is complete. But now I really do need to order eyes for him, but DDE is out of stock/redoing their glass eye section. >_< I've only ever had glass eyes, and acrylic ones just seem faky and ugh. But anyway, yeah. I need to decide which NotDoll heads need to go so I can order his outfit too.

Made a Skirt for Felicity + other bought itemsss

Finally got an iron, so I can begin sewing again, yay! Although I don't even have pins *grumble* I've made due with a simple undead threads pattern. It isn't lined but the edges are finished. It is still slightly big and I don't have anything to attach it with, but still, it counts as sort of being finished. XD The rest are little items I picked up a while ago but haven't shared yet.

I found this little box for like 98 cents at Hobby Lobby.

It is the perfect size for a shoebox!

This was also about a dollar, and it is almost the perfect scale for a laundry hamper

Last is a cute little lamb that was in the dollhouse section.

Painted Belladonna

I have bad light, and apparently I can't crop out and then resize on Paint without killing the quality, so this is all you get. >_< Went for a geisha look. You can't really tell but I blushed her face white (which doesn't show up since she is WS) and around her ears a bit darker.

I'll have to darken to koi's head, but I figured if I was going for an asian theme, why not put in a little more practice.

Hmm.

I think I'm gonna let Felicity's alter ego run around without a wig. :3

New sleepface faceup!

I was almost thinking about selling Felicity, my mnf Marcia (who was also my first doll). Yeah, I know, bad me. Sooo I finally go around to redoing her faceup and I love it. I'm thinking of it as her sad clown face AKA I finally had the guts to try everything I've ever wanted to regarding faceups. But yeah, this is her makeup for when she runs away to join the circus. I guess. Yeah. XD Also, I forgot how lovely the mnf bodies posing, loooove it.

You can't really see it but I did Tolkien's symbol in white watercolor pencil and glossed over it. You can't see it with the wig on, but I actually kind of like her bald now so it's all good. XD

She is complete now!

Sort of! XD I've pretty much decided to keep the argeia head, but the pink wig looks awful wit the style faceup I've done. Sooo I guess I'll try to sell it and get another one sometime soon. She also needs shoes. The gray leeke shirt I got her is long enough to be a tunic so she is ok in that department. Yay for getting things. :)

I should be getting my extra elastic and string puller from Volks tomorrow. Yay, I'll finally have a complete doll after several weeks! The eyes I have in the argeia head are too small but will do for now. I'm also reconsidering the pink wig. I love it, but it's so heavy and the pink isn't working with the dark red.

Holy crap I love gloss. Gloss gloss gloss. I like gloss. I want to gloss everything. I'll try to get a better shot later. I absolutely love how the lips turned out, and of course they are super-glossed. XD

WIP

There are still no batteries to be found, so this is the best picture I can get. After I painted the middle lip line much too dark I gave up on that part and just went ahead and glossed it. XD I just want to do a few more little details and spray the final coat and she will be done for now. I don't know if I want to sell her now. ;n;

on a faceup for my Ligaya head, and I am back to really liking her. XD I think I will have to paint all of them to see which one to keep. Also, the string and stuff I ordered from Volks should ship today. They are super nice about me giving them the wrong billing info XD If I ever get a giant chunk of money again it will be hard to not order a doll that would only have shipping fees from California *shifty eyes* Anyway, pictures when Ligaya is done.

After a grumpy post I decided it was time to do something about it so I just ordered some more elastic and a string puller from the Volks USA site. They have them at Dollmore, and although I do want to get the 70cm sized hakam outfit they offer, I'd like to wait until I have sold one of the NotDoll heads so I have more money.

Also, Ligaya might be the head that goes. XD I'm doing a bit of the faceup outline and I'm pretty sure I like Belladonna better now. Fickle girl is fickle.

Meh

The dolly part of my life has been on hold for a little while. At my job we finally hired two new people so we are not longer understaffed and I'm back to the hours I want. Classes are still sucking up my energy and I have to have a class this summer too, but it's online so it shouldn't be too bad.

My NotDoll situation is still the same. D: I have to buy more elastic and I will definitely need a string puller. Even after using the extra string they sent, it still isn't long enough to pull up through her head and tie a knot (without her being strung ridiculously tight, and I would probably need a hemostat for that). Anyway, I might try to pencil in a bit of a face for some of them with a watercolor pencil. In person I definitely favor Belladonna. Something about the little teeth just gets me that I didn't realize with just the company pictures. I'll post pictures if I get anything decent.

Well, I'm frustrated. I have had to take my NotDoll girl completely apart, and the extra string they sent her with is still too short, so I will have to buy more string plus one of those things that looks like a crochet hook, and a hemostat would be helpful too. I will never unstring another doll for the rest of my life. I also emailed Notdoll for help a couple days ago but they never replied. I just want my girl all together. ;n;

Notdoll Box Opening

A little late to post, but I've been fiddling with her strings. It is a nightmare, but that can be for another post.

The box is beautiful! It is giant, pink, and has a big bow tied around it.

These are like a magic eraser, and I'm glad they included them. There are pink lines where her seams are, I guess they are from when she was cast. Just a little rubbing and they came off.
